How to safely wash a ceramic coated vehicle
ALWAYS start your wash with the wheels.
WHEELS
Clean the wheels with (Infinity Wax / Incinerate) for this but is heavily diluted to around 25-1 for ceramic coated alloys, this products allows the dirt to removed safely with out affecting the ceramic coating we applied
You wont need a lot to remove any grime due to being coated so less is more with wheels.
We tend to use a detailing brush (a small brush) to do this as it’s very delicate and removes any potential of scratching the wheels or the coating to be removed
PRE WASH / SNOW FOAM
The pre wash is the most important stage of any wash process, you should spray a citrus pre wash that is wax and coating friendly, we use (Infinity Wax / Citrus) around the lower half of your vehicle but most brands offer a citrus based pre wash, that are on the whole very safe, this will remove much of the grime from the vehicle.
Allow this to dwell for between 2-5 minutes depending on weather conditions, if its a hot day, do this panel by panel, as it must not be allowed to dry on the paintwork.
After the citrus pre wash, you are then free to apply snow foam either via a snow foam lance on a pressure washer or by a pump spray and allow this to dwell for 2-10 minutes depending on weather conditions, do not allow to dry on the paintwork.
Rinse off safely to remove all snow foam.
SHAMPOO
After you have pre washed, and applied snow foam and rinsed away, make sure you have two buckets with grit guards to minimise any scratches, and use a PH Neutral Shampoo, there are many in the market but again (Infinity Wax / Pure Shampoo) is our go to for this as its safe on all vehicles and extremely powerful, allowing your wash mitt to glide along the vehicle and cause no scratches or marring.
Once the whole vehicle has been washed by hand, rinse off the shampoo read for drying. Again, do not allow the shampoo to dry into the paintwork
If its a hot day clean the vehicle panel by panel.
DRYING / QUICK DETAILER
You should not be at a stage where your vehicle is clean, but is wet. This is the time to reach for your 1400 GSM drying towel (any drying towel is fine) but we use 1400GSM as it soaks the water effectively enough that you dont have water smearing on panels and drys away really well.
When it comes to the detailing aspect, we highly recommend (Infinity Wax / Synergy QD) this is an expensive product, however a little goes a long way and you could easily was your vehicle twice a month from a 1L bottle, over a year. Its minimal one spray per panel to reignite and revitalise your coating. Its perfect with a soft microfibre to buff on, and buff off again.
Now, STAND BACK AND ADMIRE YOUR WORK,
your car should look as good as when it left our studio.
ITEMS WE RECOMMEND FOR YOUR MAINTENANCE WASH
Infinity Wax - Incinterate (Wheels/Tyres)
Safe to use on alloys, and tyres.
Infinity Wax - Citrus Pre Wash (Bodywork)
Safe to use on bodywork, wheel arches, however avoid glass.
Infinity Wax - Powerfoam Snow Foam (Entire Vehicle)
Use on all vehicle from rood to tyres.
Infinity Wax - Pure Shampoo (Entire Vehicle)
Use on paintwork and exterior glass
Infinity Wax - Synergy QD (Paintwork)
Use on paintwork only
1400 GSM Drying Towel (Paintwork only)
Use on paintwork only, dont dry your wheels with this towel, if you want to dry your wheels, buy another drying towel (a different colour) so you can differntiate between them. Drying wheels with a small but of grime left, then rubbed on paintwork can cause scratches, marring and imperfections, so buy two drying towels to eradicate any potential issues
Wash Mitt
We recommend using a wash mitt, not a sponge. Sponges pick up grit and grime, and cause issues, wash mitts are much better for your paintwork.
2 Buckets with 2 Grit Guards
Two buckets are essential, one for shampoo & water mix and one for water on its own. One for cleaning chemicals and to rinse, rinsing your wash mitt after every panel.
